Luke Thompson Obituary, Death – Bidwill Family and Community Mourn 12-Year-Old Remembered as “Lukey Dukey”
Luke Arthur Thompson, affectionately known as “Lukey Dukey,” of Bidwill, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2026, at the age of 12. His sudden death has left his family, friends and wider community grieving the loss of a young life that ended far too soon.
Luke was the dearly loved son of Andrew and Lisa and Carolee. He was also a much-loved brother to Jozephyne, Charlie, Aaliyah, Sophie, Wyatt, Alex, Hayden and Leo.
He was cherished by his grandparents Owen and Linda Thompson, Terri-Ann and Rodney McLeish, and Margaret Bandholz, as well as his great-grandmother Barbara Neilsen. Beyond his immediate family, Luke will be remembered with love by his many nephews and nieces, cousins, extended relatives and friends.
For those who knew Luke, his unexpected passing has brought an immense sense of loss. His family and friends are now holding onto the memories of the young boy who occupied such a special place in their lives.
The family’s tribute to Luke includes the words “I Love You Most,” a simple expression reflecting the deep love and affection surrounding his memory.
Family and friends are invited to gather for prayers in Luke’s memory at St Mary’s Catholic Church on Adelaide Street, Maryborough, on Friday, September 18, at 11 a.m. The service will provide an opportunity for loved ones and members of the community to come together, honor Luke’s life and support his grieving family.
At only 12 years old, Luke’s passing has left behind parents, siblings, grandparents, extended family members and friends who will continue to carry his memory forward.
As those closest to Luke gather to remember him, they will reflect on the moments they shared and the unique place he held within his family and community. His memory will remain with all those whose lives he touched.
